Jörgen Lennartsson gästade vår podcast Fans Corner Sverige i måndags (du kan lyssna här!) och tonade ner förväntningar på sitt Helsingborgs IF inför lördagens kval hemma mot Halmstads BK.
Det känns rimligt.
Laget från Superettan gäller i de allra flest fall som underdog inför det allsvenska kvalet – och med tanke på den säsong som HBK har haft i Allsvenskan är favoritskapet kanske ännu tydligare just i år.
Jag tycker egentligen att det är konstigt att Magnus Haglund och Pelle Olsson ska behöva leda sitt lag i det här kvalet. Känslan är att HBK varit för bra för att inte klara allsvenskt kontrakt. Statistiken säger egentligen samma sak.
Men problemet är att man inte har kunnat stoppa in bollarna. Frågan är vem som ska göra målen i det viktiga kvalet?
Jag tycker att HBK har visat att man hör hemma i Allsvenskan – och risken är att många av lagets unga spelare lämnar om det blir spel i Superettan nästa säsong. Positiva utropstecken som Malkolm Nilsson Säfqvist, Amir Al Ammari, Emil Tot Wikström och Samuel Kroon kan vara alternativ för andra allsvenska klubbar.
Helsingborgs IF? Ärligt talat har man inte så mycket att förlora.
Enligt mig är HIF inte riktigt redo för Allsvenskan – och förlorar man mot HBK kan man istället se det här året och det här kvalet som en nyttig erfarenhet för lagets många unga spelare. Då är man mer redo nästa gång det smäller.
Jag förstår att supportrarna inte vill höra det, och det är en enorm skillnad i attraktionskraft om man klarar kvalet, men ur ett hälsoperspektiv är HIF inte helt redo än.
Kanske får också Andreas Granqvist, som nu äntligen är sportchef och bara sportchef, också mer lugn och ro med ett år till i Superettan. Om man vinner kvalet får Granen istället jobba väldigt hårt i vinter.
